Calculator for health benefits of active movement

Let's Move

Calorie Calculator

This caluclator uses a special formula based on your age, gender, height, weight and activity type to calculate how many calories you need to intake to maintain your given weight. The calorie intake we often see online is 2000 a day for women and 2500 a day for men - this is obviously a generalisation and isn't always the healthiest option. Some people are a lot more active than others, therefore they will require more calories. People less active will need less calories. Based on their characteristics and activity levels a person may gain or lose weight when consuming this amount of calories. Our calculator provides a much more accurate approach, leading to a much healthier lifestyle. To use the calculator just input your age, gender, height, weight and select your daily exercise intensity.

Calories Burned

Our second calculator will calculate the amount of calories you have burned when performing active movement. This is a good tool to use as often we do not realise how many calories we have burned and sometimes that means we fall below our daily calorie limit and start to lose weight. Other uses may be when you want to lose weight - therefore your goal is to burn so many calories per day. Another reason may be that you have gone over your daily calorie limit, so you want to burn so many calories through active movement to meet to even out the limit, meaning you will not gain weight. To use the calculator just input your weight, how long your exericse was, and the type of exercise you done (out of cycling, walking and running). Input everything to see the result

The calculator is developed within the framework of a student competition held under the INNOAIR project. INNOAIR project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund through the Urban Innovative Actions Initiative.
