On 01.09.2019 Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" has started the implementation of the "Access To Universities for Persons with Disabilities - ATU" project N2019-1-BG01-KA203-062530 as a Leading Organisation.
The project is co-financed by Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.

The project aims to support exploitation and advancement of inclusive HEI systems with minimising the risks possibly connected with undertaking new challenges through providing adequate analysis and information. We will collect both best and not successful practices fro partner countries and other available resources presenting solutions implemented in European and other countries, needs to be met, problems and limitations faced, analyse them in depth, make a model support services list with adequate descriptions and conclusions and recent research, elaborate ideas for structure and organisation within the HEI system, develop the model awareness building activities that could and should be implemented in HEI systems to maximise positive impact of support services for students with disabilities and what is extremely important, we will provide testing of implementation of various solutions and elaborate methodology for their effective implementation.

On 02.07.2022 VFU “Chernorizets Hrabar” organized the Multiplier Event under "Access To Universities for Persons with Disabilities - ATU" Project N2019-1-BG01-KA203-062530 The Multiplier event was organized in order to promote achieved results in Bulgaria for stakeholders in the field of support services for students with disabilities at the level of higher education.
The Intellectual Outputs, including the Methodology for their implementation, were distributed at the event.




 


From 9.11.2021 to 11.11.2021 the First Joint Staff Training under the project "Access to Universities for People with Disabilities - ATU" №2019-1-BG01-KA203-062530 was held. The first short-term joint training of the staff was organized by VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar". The event was held online on the Google Meat platform, with the required number of participants from all partner organizations.
The Joint Staff Training supported the phase of testing and in-depth analysis of the collected information, was the basis for a discussion on the final structure and content of the O5 intellectual score, as well as any potential modifications of IO2 and IO4. The event was aimed at providing and receiving as much information as possible about the expertise and experience of each participant on the topic of support services for students with disabilities, problems, limitations, all possible significant indicators for establishing a process of inclusive systems for higher education. During the event, an opportunity was organized for flexible organization of work, division into smaller, thematic groups, brainstorming and exchange of new ideas.
The main goal of the joint training of staff was to test the results and conclusions of intellectual results O2 and O4, to provide an opportunity to exchange experiences of good practice in training university staff on the main topics covered: what are disabilities, types of disabilities, legal frameworks and norms, their specifics and approaches for working with students with disabilities, acquaintance with the specific topic, discussion of IO5.



 

The second partnership meeting under the „Access To Universities for Persons with
Disabilities – ATU“ N2019-1-BG01-KA203-062530 project was held on September 9 and 10,
2021 in Palermo, Italy. The project is co-financed by the Erasmus + Program, KA2 of the
European Union. The meeting was hosted by the National Research Council (CNR), Italy as a
partner in the project.
On the first day, a CNR representative opened the meeting and welcomed the participants.
A representative of Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" (VFU) presented the
intellectual result O2 " Support service for students with disabilities" developed under the
project.
A representative of the Polish partner, the Institute for Regional Development Foundation
(FIRR), presented the intellectual result O4 " Model awareness building at HEIs" developed
under the project.

The meeting continued with a presentation of the upcoming intellectual result O5
"Methodology of implementation of support services into the HEI systems" by the partner
Masaryk University, Czech Republic (MU).
The second day started with the presentation of the online platform for managing the learning
content of the project, developed by CNR.
All partners discussed the activities for planning and managing the learning content in the
platform, as well as for planning and organizing the Joint Staff Trainings, Multiplier events
and last partner meeting. All they reviewed the schedule of the activities. The actions for
popularization and dissemination of the project results were discussed, as well as the final
report of the project.







On November 30, 2020 all ATU project partners participated in an online meeting via Google meet platform. The purpose of the meeting was to monitor the current progress of the project, as well as to discuss key issues related to its implementation.
The partners discussed all issues related to the implementation of project activities in the second year. Anna Rdest as a leading partner of FIRR, Poland reviewed O2. The meeting continued with a presentation of future activities for the preparation of O4. It was made by Irina Kircheva from RAPIV, Bulgaria as a leading partner of this result. The meeting continued with a discussion in the framework of the future preparation of O5, which was led by Filip Harbman from Masaryk University, Czech Republic as the lead partner of the result.
The future implementation of Joint Staff Trainings was also discussed.
All partners shared their dissemination activities.
The partnership meeting ended with a discussion on various issues related to the implementation of the project.


 




 




 

On December 3 and 4, 2019 Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar” hosted the Kick-off Meeting on “Access to Universities for Persons with Disabilities – ATU” project 2019-1-BG01-KA203-062530 as a Leading organization . The project is co-financed by the EU Erasmus + program, KA2.

VFU presented the project, its objectives, target groups and expected results. The roles and tasks of each partner were discussed, as well as the intellectual outcomes that each partner should coordinate by verifying that the tasks are within a reasonable timeframe.

The partners discussed the necessary actions to promote and disseminate project results.

VFU representative briefly outlined the management and financial rules for implementing the project under ERASMUS + program. A representative of the VFU also presented the administrative and financial rules, as well as the reporting requirements and rules for keeping the financial records.

The meeting finished by specifying the dates for the next project partnership meetings.

 




 






From 27.04.2022 to 29.04.2022 the second Joint Staff Training under the project "Access to Universities for People with Disabilities - ATU" №2019-1-BG01-KA203-062530 was held under the Erasmus + program, funded by EU. The second Joint Staff Training was organized by Masarykova univerzita, Brno, Czech Republic. The event was held in person and online via Google Meat platform, with participation from all partner organizations.
During the Joint Staff Training the current state of the project, the results achieved so far, as well as the intellectual result O5" Methodology of implementation of support services into the HEI systems" was discussed. This Methodology will be a practical tool to support other higher education institutions that decide to implement support services for students with disabilities.
Masarykova univerzita, Brno, Czech Republic presented to the rest of partners the training materials prepared by them on the topic, discussions and in-depth analysis of the collected information on the final structure and content of the intellectual result O5. The event was aimed at providing and obtaining as much information as possible about the expertise and experience of each participant on the topic of support services for students with disabilities, problems, limitations, any possible significant indicators for establishing a process of inclusive systems for higher education. During the event, it was an opportunity for flexible organization of work, division into smaller, thematic groups, brainstorming and exchange of new ideas.
The main goal of the Methodology of implementation of support services into the HEI systems was to provide an opportunity to exchange experiences and good practices on the main topics covered by the project: what are disabilities, types of disabilities, legal frameworks and norms, their specifics and approaches to work with students with disabilities.
In conclusion, administrative issues were discussed, such as the holding of the third Transnational Project Meeting, the forthcoming activities for all partners to organize the Multiplier events and the reporting of the project.
