High School Students Ran a Student Start-up in the “Manager for 90 Minutes” Competition
05/11/2026Three teams from the civic education school “Youth Parliament - European Bridge” at the Municipal Children’s Complex in Varna took part in the “Manager for 90 Minutes” educational competition organised by Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar”. The talented young people from key Varna secondary schools tackled a case study on managing a student start-up and presented their proposals to a four-member jury.

Prof. Elisaveta Kalinova, PhD, Dean of the Faculty of Law, took part in the International Black Sea 2030 Forum and the International Scientific Conference “Sea” in Burgas. The events brought together representatives of European and national institutions, academia, business and international networks to discuss security and sustainable development in the Black Sea region. The second edition of the Black Sea 2030 Forum was held at the International Congress Centre in Burgas under the motto “Security, Sustainability, Innovation”.

Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar” to Award Diplomas to Its 31st Graduating Class
01/11/2026The academic management of Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar” will award higher education diplomas to more than 400 graduates from the spring and summer sessions of the Class of 2026 at an official graduation ceremony on November 6th, 2026 (Friday), at 1:00 p.m. in the university’s Aula Maxima in Varna. Of these graduates, 300 have completed Bachelor’s degree programmes and 110 have completed Master’s degree programmes.

31/10/2026A tower crane built from less than one kilogram of spaghetti lifted a load of three kilograms at the 12th national creative skills competition, Varna Spaghetti Engineering 2026, held today at Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar”. Organised by the Department of Construction of Buildings and Facilities at the Faculty of Architecture, the event brought together 16 student teams from eight vocational high schools specialising in construction, architecture and geodesy across the country.
Sixteen Student Teams Build Spaghetti Tower Cranes at Varna Spaghetti Engineering 2026
31/10/2026Sixteen student teams began their participation in the 12th national creative skills competition, Varna Spaghetti Engineering 2026, at Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar” with the challenge of building a tower crane out of spaghetti. The competition brought together students from eight vocational high schools specialising in construction, architecture and geodesy in Sofia, Veliko Tarnovo, Stara Zagora, Haskovo, Kardzhali, Burgas, Shumen and Varna at the university’s Education and Sports Complex.

The visit was part of the course “History of the State and Law,” taught by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yordanka Toneva, and gave future legal professionals an opportunity to connect their university studies with hands-on work involving original historical documents.
