140 BULGARIAN ARCHITECTS TO PARTICIPATE IN TRAINING FOR WORK ON THE GERMAN MARKET

26 May 2022

140 architects from all over the country will take part in the project entitled Alliance for Adaptation of Bulgarian Architects to the German Market for Architectural Services, co-financed by the Erasmus + programme of the European Union, starting tomorrow at VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar". They will gain specific knowledge and skills on how to practise their profession in the countries of the European Union and in particular in Germany, and to expand the Bulgarian market of architectural services to the countries of the Old Continent with better pay levels. The directives of the European Parliament enable every Bulgarian architect to practise their profession in the EU countries.

The Faculty of Architecture at Varna Free University will welcome Georg Wintgen - President of the Bavarian Chamber of Architects. The specialized training will be led by Eng. Stoyan Todorov - a graduate of the Technical University of Munich, a member of the Bavarian Chamber of Architects, the Union of Freelance Architects in Germany and the Union of German Engineers.

The largest European market for architectural services - Germany is experiencing a shortage of qualified architects. The project partners - Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar", the Institute for Digital Transformations Foundation and the architectural company from Munich ST Architekten GmbH found that it is necessary to conduct a regular qualification course to prepare Bulgarian architects and architecture students to meet the challenges of the profession in Germany with an emphasis on the project phases that can be worked remotely.

The project will support the integration of Bulgarian architects into a new field of vocational training by creating an alliance of partners with diverse experience, profiles and specific expertise, able to help adapt Bulgarian architects to the German market for architectural services. A sustainable, open and active community of interested individuals and legal entities with the potential to increase the professional knowledge, skills and competencies of Bulgarian architects to work with clients of architectural services in Germany will be created.

Given the extremely high interest in education, the Faculty of Architecture of Varna Free University will conduct a second training in the autumn of 2022.
