An interactivebusin quest foryoung researchers

An interactive bus to help young researchers visited Varna Free University. The travelling initiative of the European Commission - EURAXESS visited two cities in the country. The next stop of the bus after Varna is Ruse. Universities in 34 cities of 16 countries have direct access to the services offered by the organization this year. The visit of the interactive bus EURAXESS in Varna is also associated with the title European Youth Capital 2017.

The initiative aims to stimulate the professional development of researchers and to promote the opportunities for research mobility. "The main idea of the European Commission, which we fully share, is to find ways to encourage young researchers to stay in Europe. The development of research is among the main priorities of Varna Free University. This is the reason to be one of the hosts of the travelling bus EURAXESS. Proof of our commitment to the cause is the fact that we have the prestigious human resources logo of the European Commission. The role of the bus EURAXESS is to provide local youth with the opportunity to be photographed and registered in the network of researchers.

"Once there, they will receive e-mails with information for scientific conferences and seminars, they will have access to different literature that may be useful to them and will be offered jobs suitable for them", said Prof. Pavel Pavlov, PhD, Vice–Rector for Scientific Researchof VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar ".
The interactive bus has information terminals, through which the researchers are provided with the opportunity to visit the EURAXESS website and to publish by themselves their CVs on the Web. Specialists from EURAXESS explain on the spot how the network can be used to find a job and to develop scientific research career.
Students and lecturers from other universities (Burgas Free University, the Technical, Medical and Economic Universities from Varna) also took advantage of the visit of the interactive bus.
The program also included seminar panels related to the career development of the researchers, the researcher mobility challenges, the European Charter for Researchers and Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers.
The seminar panels were opened by Prof. Pavel Pavlov, PhD, Vice–Rector for Scientific Research.

The event was attended by the President of Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar", Prof. Anna Nedyalkova, D.Sc., the Rector - Prof. Galya Gercheva, D.Sc., the Vice-Rector for International Affairs,Projects and Technological Development, Prof. Teodora Bakardzhieva, PhD and the Director of Education and Youth Activities Directorate at Varna Municipality, Lilia Hristova.
