Varna Free University hosts the first national creative skills competition

The first national creative skills competition Varna Spaghetti Tоwer has been initiated by the Department of Construction of Buildings and Facilities at the Faculty of Architecture of Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar”.

It will bring together students from vocational schools in Architecture, Construction and Geodesy around Bulgaria and students from Varna Free University in an attempt to provoke their creative thinking to design and build … spaghetti towers.

The competition itself will take place on 21st June (Saturday) 2014, between 13:30 and 16:00h.

The accompanying programme includes a series of lectures on construction and the resistance of various types of materials.

A discussion forum entitled “Creativity and Intelligence – the Challenges before Modern Education in Bulgaria” is scheduled for 9:30 on 21st June, with the participation of the headmasters of the vocational schools.

Media partners of the event are BNT2, Cherno More Television and the newspaper Stroitel.
