Varna Free University is the only Bulgarian university presented at the Arab-Euro Conference on Higher Education in Amman

    The Rector of Varna Free University, Prof. D Sc Galya Gercheva took part in the second Arab-Euro Conference on Higher Education, held in Amman on 10 and 11 June, 2014.    

    The forum was attended by representatives of the governing bodies of the university-members of the Association of Arab Universities (AARU) and the European University Association (EUA). The forum aims to encourage the sustainable process of dialogue and partnership between the two organizations, and the academic exchange between Arab and European universities. The event was focused on issues related to the new role of the universities in the two regions in the context of internationalization and their new functions for dealing with socio-economic challenges in the Arab and European context were considered.

    The Rector of Varna Free University,  Prof. D Sc Galya Gercheva talked with the Secretary General of the Association of Arab Universities, Prof. Sultan Abu-Orabi, PhD, and also with the President of the university hosting the conference - Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT), Prof. Issa Batarseh and the President and Secretary General of the European University Association.

    Varna Free University was the only Bulgarian university which participated in the conference which was attended by representatives of universities from Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Morocco, Oman, Sudan, Palestine, Lebanon, Qatar, Spain, Italy, France, Greece and others.
