The team of Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" won for the third consecutive year the amateur basketball league "Black Sea". At the final, the students of the trainer Margarita Gecheva won dramatically against the team of the Medical University led by Vladimir Marinov-Elvisa with 65:59. Simeon Savov scored 27 points for the winners and for the vice-champions Venelin Parvanov scored 30 points.
In the match for the third place, Targovishte experienced difficulty getting the victory over the Naval Academy with 76:74 points. The success came with triple 2.4 sec. before the end. For the "flashes of lightning," Zlatkov finished with a double-double, achieving 20 points and 11 rebounds and Yanchev added 26 points once implementing 6 threes. For the "sailors" Andrei Mavrov scored 29 points.
The organizers gave several individual awards. Venelin Parvanov of the Medical University became the scorer of the tournament, and the prize was awarded to him by Prof. Krasimir Ivanov, Rector of the Medical University. For MVP (Most Valuable Player) of the tournament was named Simeon Savov from VFU. The award was given to him by Borislav Tashev, the Executive Director of the Black Sea – Port Basketball Club, Varna.
The cups were awarded to the winners by Stihomir Stoyanov - representative of the Bulgarian Basketball Federation, Simeon Varchev –President of Black Sea – Port Basketball Club, Varna, and Bozhidar Chaparov – Executive Director of Port of Varna. BGN 1,500 prize fund was provided for the winners by Boris Borisov - President of Business and Trade Center EAD.
