Over the last few days the university hosted a master class “Security Management in Electronic Payment and E-commerce”, a Unity workshop, an international conference “Informatics in Scientific Knowledge”, a master class “Gamification and Crowdsourcing” and a discussion panel entitled “Varna Free University – an Intelligent Hub in the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem”.
Unity workshop – a three-day, computer games creation platform, attended by gamers from all around the country. The lecturer Andy Touch represents the Unity Company – one of the well-known brands in the field of technology and computer games. How to make 2D games, 2D tools and animation, and what the new functions at Unity are, those were some of the topics dealt with at the seminar. Part of the programme was a 24-hour competition Game Hackathon, which started at 17:30 on Saturday. During the 24-hour marathon, programmers, artists and designers created computer games. The presentations of the games started on Sunday, 29th June, at 15:00 and the results were announced two hours later.
The international conference “Informatics in Scientific Knowledge” was organized jointly with the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. The fifth international research conference focused of the basics and achievements in the field applying and using informatics and information technologies in scientific knowledge and training. It was organized into several research areas – Informatics in Economics, Management and Culture, Informatics in State Administration, Law and Corporate Security, Informatics in Technics and Technologies, Informatics in Education, and Mathematical Methods in Informatics.
The master class “Gamification and Crowdsourcing” introduced the participants to the terms gamification and crowdsourcing.

150 or so participants in the master class showed what they had learned in demonstrations and role plays, and were awarded certificates of attendance.
“This is a busy programme for students and business representatives, a programme which brings together the university students and guests and distinguished representatives of science and practice, a programme which proves that the right way for education to develop is internationalization”, said in her opening speech the President of Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar” Prof. DSc Anna Nedyalkova.
