Top director Smilen Savav leads a master class at Varna Free University
The freelance producer, director and animator of 3D effects Smilen Savov will lead a master class “Modern Cinema and the Use of Motion Graphics, Animation and 3D Technologies”.
Savov’s impressive CV includes working for PBS, FOX, CNN WEDO 810 AM Radio, bTV, NOVA and Travel TV. He teaches digital cinema, motion graphics and animation at Point Park University in Pittsburgh, the USA.
He is author of the short films “Angel”, “Wild Thornweed” and of the documentaries “Moskvich Art”, “Deathly Art”, “World Youth Festival in Berlin”, “Mihaela”, “130 Years of Bulgarian Production of Post Stamps”, “Boyana Residence”, “Singapore”, “Thessaly”, etc. In 2011 he directed Elitsa and Sundji’s music video “Sun”. He is author of the feature movie “Adam’s Onions”.
The dynamics of the modern world reflect all spheres of our life, and, as clichéd as it may sound, cinema is no exception. It is greatly influenced by advancements of technology which change not only plot trends but also the very technology of film making. Motion graphics, animation and 3D technologies are part of these new tools.
