Students of Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" majoring in Informatics did an internship under "Erasmus +" program in London. During the internship, they took part in the Hekaton "datahack14".

The Hekatonwas held simultaneouslyin Londonand San Franciscoand has aprize pool of over$ 20,000.
Representatives of Varna Free University were the students Momchil Vasilev and Peter Ankov, who participated in a team with Edmund D'Souza, project manager at Ford and Damian Damyanov - mentor of the students during their internship in London.
The task assigned to the participants in the Hekaton was while processing the vast amount of the conglomerate’s data, to develop an application. The decision of the team was to provide an application that would assist the work of the company. The new product gives picture of the weather in different parts of the world. The idea of the project is to protect the company's high-tech and other equipment from damage due to high temperatures and other climatic influences. This would prevent some of the losses. The product analyzes data available to the company and extracts online information from large weather sites, thus making the necessary analysis.
The team with the participation of students from Varna Free University won first place in London and second place in the final ranking in the competition between the British capital and San Francisco, receiving a prize of $ 5,000.
