FUTURE CONSTRUCTION ENGINEERS AND ARCHITECTS MEET BUSINESS REPRESENTATIVES
On the eve of the professional holiday “Day of the builder”, students and lecturers from the Faculty of Architecture at Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar” took part in the “Open-door days” initiative of one of the major Bulgarian construction companies “Comfort” Ltd. The event was organized to mark the company’s 25th anniversary. In the “Comfort Business Centre” the future construction engineers and architects learned about the history, the development and the activities of the company. They visited the technical department and saw how its team works. The students met with Mr. Atanas Kosturkov, CEO of the company. He took pleasure in answering their questions, and offered them the opportunity to participate in the “Managing a case” role play. The student team had to find a solution to a case related to the company’s construction practice. The knowledge acquired at the university and their team work, enabled the future engineers to come to the right solution. The meeting continued in the company’s corporate club, where students, lecturers and hosts talked in a more relaxed atmosphere.
The “Comfort” initiative sets a good example for partnership between business and educational structures. Following the priorities in its development strategy, the Faculty of Architecture is open to all innovative forms of cooperation with business enterprises, and works towards providing successful career opportunities to its graduates.
