Active young people needed. Who will be the Student of the year 2014?
The National Student Council Representation has opened the nomination procedure within the VIII issue of the national “Student of the year” prize competition. The students who wish to enter the competition can submit their applications by 23rd November 2014, and the prize winners will be announced at an official ceremony in Sofia in December.
The national “Student of the year” prize competition was founded in the early 2006, and was initiated by the delegates of the General Assembly of the National Student Council Representation in the Republic of Bulgaria. It is traditionally held under the auspices of the Minister for education and science.
The competition’s mission is to popularize the achievements of Bulgarian students before the general public, awarding prizes to students from all areas of higher education.

Students are required to back their applications by documents verifying their achievements in science, culture, sport or other activities relevant to education, nationally and internationally.
Eligible applicants include students who have completed successfully their first year of study, and have the required achievements in their field of study.
A board of judges from all fields of education will shortlist a total of ten prize winners in the first round of the competition, in the respective educational spheres, a best foreign student in Bulgaria prize and a Student of the year 2014 prize.
The novelty in this year’s issue of the project is the appointing of AMBASSADORS of the national “Student of the year” prize, whose job will be to popularize the project among students in Bulgaria.

The board of judges will single out the “Student of the year” winner in the Republic of Bulgaria 2014 among the ten best nominees from the first round of the competition. Following the choice of the “Student of the year” winner, the runner-up takes his/her place in the respective area.
Foreign student of the year in the Republic of Bulgaria 2014.
The board of judges will single out the “Foreign student of the year” winner in the Republic of Bulgaria 2014 following the ranking of all applications received. The prize is awarded for excellent achievements in the fields of science, culture, sport or other areas relevant to students’ study activities.
A prize for contribution to the development of national student policies, building up the image of the National Student Council Representation.
The Executive Council of the National Student Council Representation in the Republic of Bulgaria will determine the prize winners in the respective areas.
