Master class GameDevelopment@VFU – expert advice

For all those who missed out on the event, we are going to briefly review our master class GameDevelopment@VFU, aimed at developers of computer games, which took place over the weekend. Our lecturers Kai Rosenkranz and Michael Hodge shared in a special interview some tips, guidelines and recommendations.

The master class GameDevelopment@VFU for developers of computer games took place from 14th to 16th November at Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar”. The event was organized by the Department of Computer Science and is part of the varied programme of the Knowledge and Innovation Academy. The master class was held under project “Developing innovative model for transfer of innovation and knowledge between Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar” and Coventry University.”BG051PO001-7.0.07-0131-C0001, funded by the operational programme Human Resources Development, and co-funded by the European Social Fund.

The topics discussed included means of development of computer games, approaches to the design of computer games, creating interactive music and other relevant areas where the lecturers Michael Hodge, Kai Rosenkranz and Stoyan Ilchev shared their experience.

The participants were introduced to the Master programme “Computer Games and Animation” offered by the university. The lecturers expressed their high opinion of the master class programme and offered some improvements to achieve better adaptability to the specific requirements of the businesses in the field of computer games development. They themselves will act as partners and will partake in the training process.

The computer games competition Game Hour, with over 80 developers taking part in it, was an event accompanying the master class over the weekend.

There are two types of people – the first one includes those who are keen gamers and believe that good games develop your mind, reflexes and creativity, and the second one are those who condemn games as something bad. Which type do you belong to?
