The team of the specialty FASHION AND FASHION MANAGEMENT at Varna Free University presents successful business models

The series of lectures and seminars, presenting successful business models in fashion continues

 

    The series of lectures and seminars presenting successful business models was launched in October. Martin Yordanov, manager of the Ruse company Top Man, producer of the classic men's wear Richmart, delivered a public lecture. The discussion during the lecture gave new ideas for the development of partnership with one of the most successful Bulgarian enterprises for production of men's wear.

 

    Month after the first meeting, on 27 November, 2014, the students majoring in FASHION AND FASHION MANAGEMENT visited the company Top Man in Ruse. The journey of the 20 future designers was funded by the manager of the company Martin Yordanov.

    The students and their lecturers participated in the one-day mentoring session of Mr Yordanov. The event organizer, Assoc. Prof. Kapka Manasieva, PhD says that the reason for the implementation of similar events is the concern for the professional development of the students through education based in a real business environment.

    The mentoring session introduced the students to the experience of the management team, the mission and goals of the company and gave a new vision to the young people about the opportunities, challenges and benefits of modern tailoring.

    The students were introduced to the activities of the department for work with individual customers. The manager of Richmart, Martin Yordanov and the commercial director of Men’s Fashion Cluster, Dean Manev presented the history of the successful company, acquainted the attendees with the statistical data for the development of the apparel production, market share and positioning of the company and presented some of the key customers and partners.

    The students presented their projects for textile fabrics with Bulgarian symbolism, which have been developed under the guidance of Assoc. Prof. Diana Peneva- Sotirova, PhD.

 

    The presentation of the third-year student Sezel Islyamwas honoured. Her collection of linings and the solution of a real business case study impressed the management of Top Man and she received an offer to continue her work with the company.

    During the main session, Martin Yordanov and his team developed the theme of the importance of the design in the men's classic wear. The main characteristics of the production of men's wear and the fashion system were presented. The students were also introduced to the data for the development of the global fashion industry, the management of the logistics chain and the trends in Bulgarian fashion.

    The students were acquainted with the basic functions of the various departments and production workshops of the company, where the technological sequence of several products was followed. Special attention was paid to the modern technology and organization for efficient and competitive production. The experts of Richmart made a presentation of CAD / CAM systems that ensure the production of men's suits and presented the main suppliers of the best quality woolen fabrics and the advantages of the product innovation in the textile production of garments.

    Among the attractive meetings was that with the 14-year-old MartinYordanov’s daughter, MartinaMartini, whopresented the Richmart Junior project in which she participates.

    The mentoring session ended with a discussion on the management of the design and the future of the Bulgarian fashion design.
