On the eve of 8 December the Mayor of Varna awarded VFU students for achieved high results

    The Mayor of Varna, Ivan Portnih presented annual named awards to the winners in the municipal initiative "Best Thesis 2014".     I have the honour to host this wonderful gathering. I want to thank the governing bodies of the higher education institutions which have created the necessary conditions for you to walk the difficult maze of science in search of knowledge. I congratulate you that Varna has become European Youth Capital in 2017! Europe believed in you - the young people of the city, and you are our future. With sincere wishes for professional success and development, fulfill your dreams!, wished the Mayor of Varna, Ivan Portnih at the awards ceremony.

    The annual named student awards of Varna Municipality are given for the eighth consecutive year. Students from universities are honoured with them for taking 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in student olympiads, international and national contests and competitions and excellent achievements in scientific forums.

    Three graduates of Varna Free Universitywere honoured with the annual named awards:   Simona Radoslavova Shangova – 5th – year student, majoring in Law at VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" in the area of Social and Economic and Legal sciences, Momchil Georgiev Vasilev - 4th – year student, majoring in Informatics at VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" in the area of Natural Sciences, Mathematics and Informatics, Valentina Yordanova Petrova - 6th – year student, majoring in Architecture at VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" in the area of Technical Sciences.

    Awards were also presented to the winners in the municipal initiative "Best Thesis 2014", organized jointly with the Territorial Organization of Scientific and Technical Unions in Varna. First place in the section of Technical Sciences took the graduate of Varna Free University, Donika Mileva Kirova, majoring in Architecture for a thesis on "Reconstruction of the church St. George" in the village of Ezerets.
