Minister of Education and Science on a working visit at Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar"
The Minister of Education and Science, Prof.Todor Tanev, PhD was on a working visit at Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" today (28 January)
During his visit, he met with the management of the university and was introduced to the promising directions in the activities of Varna Free University in the context of the strategic development of the European educational space. Among the topics discussed were the internationalization of education and research and going out into new educational markets based on franchise; the expansion of training of foreign doctoral students at the University, the development of major national and international projects; the expansion of student and staff mobility under Erasmus +.
At the meeting were presented results and good practices of academic partnership of the university with business and employers' organizations. Minister Tanev praised the initiatives of Varna Free University to develop instruments of innovative strategies for smart specialization, clusters of competence and others.
Minister Tanev shared his views to provide a new quality of the educational process and research on the basis of modern European indicators in line with the requirements for improving the quality of teaching staff.
Minister Tanev mentioned the growing prestige of Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" as one of the leading private Bulgarian universities, which introduces innovative approaches and expands its partnership with leading foreign universities. He stressed the need to ensure real equality between public and private higher education in Bulgaria as an important factor for the successful development of the higher education reform in the country.
