The project “Innovative Model for Knowledge and Innovation Transfer between Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar” and Coventry University” – among the most successful projects in Bulgaria

The project “Innovative Model for Knowledge and Innovation Transfer between Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar” and Coventry University” is among the most successful projects having been implemented in Bulgaria under the operational programme Human Resources Development, said the Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Policy, Ms Zornitsa Rusinova in Varna. Minister Rusinova visited Varna for the final project reporting events, which enjoyed attendance not only by the project team but also by the university management, lecturers, students and media representatives.

The project was deemed to be of key importance for the sustainable development of Varna Free University by the project leader, the university President Prof. Anna Nedyalkova, DSc.

The event focused on the successful practices and the sustainable models which emerged as a result of the project activities. The project coordinator, Prof. Teodora Bakardzhieva, PhD, outlined the range of activities which aim to provide students with new skills for new employment positions through training events in entrepreneurship and project based approach in education.

The project saw the realization of five master classes on topics related to digital entrepreneurship, computer games and application development, digital marketing, alternative funding of enterprises by business angels networks and social entrepreneurship. Ten seminars were organised related to gamification in business environments, change management, investment funds and Start-ups in Bulgaria.

Among the key project outcomes is the setting up of a university fund in support of student entrepreneurship, which has no analogue in the country.

The target group of the project “Innovative Model for Knowledge and Innovation Transfer between Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar” and Coventry University” increased from 85 to 500 participants in the different activities.

The good practices of Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar” will support the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy to develop and upgrade its policies in the field of youth entrepreneurship and youth unemployment reduction. The role of the university in bringing up socially responsible people is very important, added in conclusion Deputy Minister Rusinova.
