The Rector of Varna Free University Prof. DSc Galya Gercheva held a working meeting with representatives of foreign universities – partners in the project CruiseT – a Network of Collaboration Centres for the Development of Cruise Tourism in the Black Sea Region. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Batumi State Maritime Academy (BSMA), Georgia, the Tavartkiladze University, Georgia, the Caucasus University, Georgia, the Odessa National Maritime Academy, Ukraine, the Transport Academy Kiev, the University of Paderborn, Germany and Hochschule Bremerhaven, Germany.
The meeting was also attended by the vice rectors of Varna Free University Prof. Pavel Pavlov, PhD – Vice Rector for research and Prof. Valery Stoyanov, PhD – Vice Rector for educational affairs, the Dean of the Faculty of International Economics and Administration Assoc. Prof. Eleonora Tankova, PhD, the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture Prof. Stefan Terziev, PhD, the Director of the Foreign Language Teaching Department, Prof. Galina Shamonina, PhD and the Head of the International Affairs and Projects Department Blagoy Climov, PhD.
During the meeting the guests learned about the history and the activity of Varna Free University, as well as about the partnership prospects with the visiting foreign educational institutions in several directions under the Erasmus+ programme, projects funded by the Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme, by the trans-border cooperation programme etc.
At the end of the meeting a memorandum for the establishment of a Black Sea Tourism Cluster was signed.
