VFU “Chernorizets Hrabar” hosts the thematic final round “Pavilion” of “I Can Build” competition

The thematic final round “Pavilion”, held at Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar” enjoyed participation of 8 teams of students from vocational schools of architecture, construction and geodesy from the cities of Plovdiv, Sofia, Montana, Pazardzhik, Stara Zagora, Veliko Tarnovo and Pleven.

The projects were evaluated by a jury consisting of Viktor Buzev, Arch., chief architect of Varna municipality, Plamen Ivanov, Vice Chair of the Bulgarian Construction Chamber, Assoc. Prof. Milena Kichekova, PhD, Eng., Head of the Department of Construction of Buildings and Facilities of the Faculty of Architecture at VFU and lecturers Assoc. Prof. Ivan Popov, Eng. and Plamen Petrov, Arch.

The final round was tough. The competitors felt respect for the jury and audience, but no anxiety; they did their best to give a maximum performance.

The jury evaluated the participants’ creativity.All participants were awarded certificates which are equal to passed admission examinations for the majors offered by the Department, while the winning teams received diplomas entitling them to preferential conditions of applying for studies at the university.

Department of Construction of Buildings and Facilities, with the support of the Varna Regional Representation of the Bulgarian Construction Chamber and Varna Municipality, and will be dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Construction of Buildings and Facilities major.

The competition is exemplary of the collaboration between the higher and the secondary education, helped by branch organizations, which complies with one of the main developments at the Department of Construction of Buildings and Facilities.
