Prof. Orlin Borisov, D.Sc. was nominated for an individual Varna award in the field of higher education in the category of Social Sciences for his monograph "International Legal Regime of the Black Sea". Prof. Borisov has been a lecturer at Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" since 1998. He is among the leading lecturers in the courses of Public International Law, International Contract Law and International Legal Regime of the Black Sea. He has published 15 individual monographs and textbooks. Last year he issued two monographs - "International Legal Regime of the Black Sea" and "International Public Maritime Law", which received wide acclaim and were highly appreciated by lawyers working on the legal issues of the Black Sea region.
The award will be presented to Prof. Borisov at an official ceremony in the plenary hall of Varna Municipalitybuilding on 21 May (Thursday) at 13:00.
The idea of establishing Varna award originated in 1965. In 2002, an award in the sphere of science and higher education was established.
Varna awardin the field of science and higher education is presented in recognition for high professionalism and proven contribution to the organization and implementation of teaching and research to distinguished teachers, scientists and research teams. The award stimulates the development and achievements in science and higher education.
In 2009, Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" was presented Varna award for art and culture, for its contribution to the promotion and development of culture and creative activity of the artists in Varna, for the support and implementation of creative projects in the field of culture and art.
