The VII international conference “Architecture, Construction - Modernity” starts on 28th May 2015 at 10:30 in Hall 2 of the Educational and Sports Complex of Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar”. The event is held under the patronage of the university President Prof. DSc Anna Nedyalkova, and is dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Construction of Buildings and Facilities program.
The Department was established under the name "Marine Building Technologies" in 1995. It trains students in the programs Construction of Buildings and Facilities and Fire and Emergency Safety. Graduates successfully pursue a career in the construction industry – at design and construction companies which design and construct buildings, facilities and infrastructural sites, at expert units of state and local administrations, at the special services for population protection from fire, disaster and emergency.
The conference “Architecture, Construction - Modernity” will make an overview of how the program Construction of Buildings and Facilities has evolved over the years, and of the challenges it has faced. Traditionally, the forum is an open platform for exchange of ideas and popularization of good practices in the field of architecture and civil engineering.
The conference plenary talks will reveal the link between education, business and administration as a basis for successful projects and training of specialists who meet the labour market demand. The discussion topics include „The balance between planning and market in the modern urban development practice in Bulgaria “,"Fire safety in the investment process", some key moments in the repair works of “Congress” Hall in the Palace of Culture and Sports in Varna and others.During the plenary session the electronic platform PROFACE5 will be introduced, which has been designed to link education, science and business in the construction sector in Bulgaria.
Parallel to the conference, the main university foyer will host an exhibition of student course and diploma project works focusing on cultural heritage protection.
