Students in the Master programmes “Advertising and Public Relations in Business Management” and “Marketing and Public Relations in Business Management, Science and Culture” of Varna Free University did an internship in early June (1 – 4 June 2015) in Sofia. The internship included visits to state institutions, national media, leading business organisations and meetings with the directors of their PR departments. The Master students learnt about the work of the press centres of the National Assembly, the Council of Ministers, the Presidency of the Republic of Bulgaria, the Bulgarian Industrial Association, the National Statistical Institute, and about the Directorate “PR and Protocol” of the Ministry of Education and Science and Directorate “Public Communications” of the Bulgarian National Television.

During the internship the students had meetings with Prof. Bozhidar Dimitrov, PhD at the National Historical Museum, Prof. DSc Boryana Hristova at the National Library “St. St. Cyril and Methodius”, Prof. Nikolay Ovcharov, PhD at the Union of the Bulgarian Journalists. They also visited the new National Gallery “Square 500”.
The initiative, which has become traditional for Varna Free University, is part of students’ practical training, thus helping the future PR specialists to acquire a good idea of this specific profession.
