I will study and succeed in Bulgaria!

15 June 2015

14 are this year's winners of the scholarship program of Varna Free University under the motto "I will study and succeed in Bulgaria." Among them are students with excellent marks of completed secondary education from the towns of Varna, Burgas, Ruse, Shumen, Samokov, Elena, Troyan and General Toshevo. The total amount of the granted one-year scholarships comes up to nearly BGN 40,000.     The winning participants in the competition apply with an essay on the topic of "I will study and succeed in Bulgaria." Excellent marks of completed secondary education in Bulgaria for school year 2014/2015 is a prerequisite for participation in the program.

Among the preferred specialties by the scholarship-holders are "Psychology", "Law", "Business Administration and Management", "International Relations and Law", "Architecture", "Fashion and Fashion Management ", "Crime Counteraction and Public Order Protection."     The specialties are part of the 18 Bachelor’s degree programs that Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" included in its updated academic profile for the academic 2015/2016.

All students who remained outside the ranking in the scholarship program can use the numerous opportunities for financial relief after completion of the first semester of their studies.     The practice of Varna Free University "Cherorizets Hrabar" and its Board of Trustees is to provide personal annual scholarships to needy or outstanding students in different areas, and to accept the costs of education by companies and business organizations on a contract for employment after graduation.     The scholarship program is part of the social mission of the university to support the efforts of young people to increase their competitiveness in the labour market and to build up successful career in Bulgaria.

"Every year, over 50 secondary school graduates pack up and leave for attractive academic destinations in the UK, Holland, Germany and other countries. Many of them do it only because they do not see an opportunity to live with dignity in Bulgaria after graduation. But I believe that dignity does not come from being able to compare the size of your bank account with your colleagues from the aforementioned countries. For me, it is worthy to perform with excellence despite the difficulties and to show willingness to make your dreams come true." says in his essay Mihail Nyagolov - winner of the scholarship program of Varna Free University from Ruse.

At the end of her essay, Mihaela Slavcheva from Burgas wrote: "... education does not only shape us as individuals, but also it is an ingredient in the recipe for a successful career and a happy life. Therefore its quality should be taken into consideration both by young people and by their employers. Good academic environment, motivating and friendly atmosphere - they underpin the proper development of a person. Here in Bulgaria, I find all this and much more. Therefore, I will stay in my native country; I will fight for even the most unattainable goals, I will preserve ambition, patience and courage that always give me the strength to go forward. I will study and succeed in Bulgaria ".
