A scholarship amounting to 1500 BGN will be awarded to four tourism students with excellent results by St. St. Konstantin and Elena Foundation next academic year. Applications can be submitted by students from all higher education institutions in the country which offer Bachelor programmes in tourism, Foundation representatives announced. The applicants who have submitted their applications by 20th August 2015 will compete for the first two scholarships.
The winners will receive the total amount of the scholarship in 5 equal installments in the winter semester, and the Foundation will run a second competition for the summer semester. Candidates must be full-time students, with a grade point average no lower than 5, 50 for their last semester. Preference will be given to candidates who have grown up in care homes or in socially disadvantaged families, to orphans and disabled students.
The programme was launched last year, when four students – from Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar”, the University of Economics in Varna and Velico Tarnovo University – received the scholarship. The objective is to encourage talented young people who want to develop in key economic areas suffering from lack of workforce.
