We are facing new realities which should shape the education product we provide. This view was expressed by Prof. Dr Teodora Bakardjieva, Director of the Technological Institute of Varna Free University (VFU) at the Education and Media conference organized by Bulgaria ON AIR and Bloomberg TV. She presented a new project of Varna Free University led by Prof. Dr. Habil. Anna Nedyalkova, President of VFU, which is based on the synergy between media and education.
On the one hand media participate in a reality where every consumer can create and publish content. On the other hand lecturers in media studies should introduce content through new teaching methods. For if we teach our students the way we taught yesterday, we limit their future opportunities’, said Prof. Dr Teodora Bakardjieva.
Prof. Dr Teodora Bakardjieva presented the project SMART FUTURE: Education–Media Synergy, which is a project for the creation of new innovative educational products with the participation of university partners, media partners, leading experts, the business, and employers’ organizations.
The establishment of new approaches and the internationalization of education are among the reasons for the launch of the project’, Prof. Dr. Bakardjieva pointed out.
The project is based on the idea for the creation of educational resources for our students which include selected media products with very high quality. These are study materials with their own added value which include lecturers’ and experts’ commentaries on the selected media products and have become part of our study resources, Prof. Dr Bakardjieva commented.
Using these materials dual training in a web environment will be provided with the aim to certify students’ knowledge and skills.
