Varna Free University is among the most preferred universities, according to a survey conducted by the Institute of Modern Politics

    Varna Free University takes sixth place in the ranking of the most popular Bulgarian universities, according to a survey conducted by the Institute of Modern Politics.     The national representative survey was carried out in the period 26 June - 4 July, 2015 among 1,020 adult citizens. Its aim is to ascertain the degree of familiarity and popularity of the individual universities in Bulgaria and the preferences that Bulgarians have to one or another university depending on the preferred specialties and professional areas.

    The opinion of the respondents is related to their impressions of the level of teaching at the respective university, the university's reputation, its level of scientific production (with emphasis mainly in the group of people with higher education), "modernity" of the university, labourmarket prospects for the graduates, etc.

    As the highest priority, both the experts and the citizens determine the professional development of its graduates and the connection with the labourmarket.

    In the second place stands out the level of teaching and the condition of the campus, and the third most important - the level of the academic staff of the university.

    The reputation, the use of information technology, the social and living facilities and others are the other criteria which form the opinion of the respondents about a university.

    Economics, Informatics and Computer Science and Law are the three most preferred by the respondents specialties. Among the preferred specialties and professionals areas offered by Varna Free University are also Architecture, Construction and Geodesy, National Security, Political Science and Psychology.

    The universities have a varied attractiveness depending on the professional area and the specialties that the respondents are interested in. The survey includes questions aimed at finding out the attitudes towards the various universities in terms of several key professional areas: Law; Informatics and Computer Science; Economy; Public Communications and Information Sciences and National Security.      The respondents in the survey identify Varna Free University among the five most preferred universities for training courses in the professional area of economics.
