The first partner meeting on the project "CULTOUR - Innovation and capacity building in higher education for cultural management and sustainable tourism in the European cultural routes" under Erasmus + program, KA2 of the EU,in which Varna Free University participates as a partner, was held on 23 and 24 November 2015 in the city. Sao Pedro do Sul, Portugal. The meeting was opened by the mayor of the municipality, Mr Victor Figeriedo. It brought together all the partners involved in the project and the activities envisaged for implementation were discussed.
The project CULTOUR + creates strategic partnerships among universities, local authorities, small and medium-sized enterprises and NGOs. It is envisaged the development of training programs in the field of higher education, which include tools for integrating innovations. International mobility and cross-border cooperation will be implemented under the project with the aim to include topics in the curricula of the universities in the field of cultural tourism, cultural management and cultural heritage.
The CULTOUR + project aims to promote entrepreneurship in higher education through training, sharing best practices, stimulating creative thinking and promoting projects for employment of graduates in the field of tourism, hotels and cultural management. The project will promote the creation of small and medium-sized enterprises and networking of interest.

Eight business plans and projects will be developed under the project - one for each participating country. The experience and training will be concentrated in a small number of projects selected on criteria such as innovation, originality and potential to create jobs and sustainability. The experts from each partner organization will advise the applicants in the process of preparation and submission of projects. The submitted proposals will be considered as indicators of the impact.
