Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" is among the top academic institutions visited by Her Excellency, Ambassador of Israel to Bulgaria – Mrs Irit Lillian. This is her first visit to Varna from the beginning of her mandate. The Israeli Ambassador was accompanied by Mrs Iman Amasha, Deputy Head of the Mission and the Honorary Consul of the State of Israel in Bulgaria, Prof. Krasimir Metodiev, PhD. The guests looked around the university campus and visited the Institute of Technology and the front office.

During her meeting with the senior diplomat, the President of Varna Free University, Prof. Anna Nedyalkova, D.Sc. welcomed Ambassador Lillian and introduced the academic management of the university. She stressed the importance of the visit, and that Varna Free University has already trained 10 PhD students from the State of Israel. Prof. Nedyalkova said that VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" already has its partners in Israel in the face of Ben Gurion University. Professors of the academic institution participate as lecturers in the numerous master classes.

Her Excellency Mrs IritLillianexpressed her satisfaction withher visitandthe implemented partnerships between the twouniversities.Shegave a brief overviewof the Israelieducational systemandconfirmedits willingness toassist in theestablishing of contactsand the implementation ofpartnershipswith otheruniversities.
Several agreements between Israel and Bulgaria have been signed, which may be a good foundation for future cooperation, she said.
The ambassador and the academic management of Varna Free University discussed also the possibilities for exchange of lecturers through master classes and video conferencing on topics related to national security and counterterrorism, architecture and construction, design, fashion, information technology and other fields of mutual interest.
