For the future civil engineers the meetings with business are extremely important for their professional development
At the invitation of the Department of Construction of Buildings and Structures the first of the series of meetings and seminars dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the university was held at Varna Free University at the end of January. The future civil engineers and lecturers of the department participated in the lecture module on "Strengthening of Reinforced Concrete Structural Components with Composite FRP Systems" with speaker Eng. Krasimir Vazgechev, product specialist at Mapei Bulgaria. The company is a world leader in the production of building systems and chemical products for constructionpurposes.
The seminar participants were acquainted with the latest solutions to increase the sustainability of structures by embedding in them high-strength fabrics of carbon fibers with high module of elasticity and stretch. The topic provoked numerous questions from the audience, which testifies to the great interest in the information. The seminar participants said that meetings with business are important for their future careers.
A practical implementation of the second module with products of Mapei Company is scheduled for April. There the students can apply their knowledge and skills in practice.
