Days of Varna Free University in Silistra.
The celebrations of the 25th anniversary of the university began with the initiative Days of Varna Free University in the Regions that started in Silistra. The program included meetings at the Regional Administration - Silistra, in secondary schools and forums with alumni of the university from the region, representatives of the business and the NGO sector.

On 9 and 10 February within the framework of the initiative, a Relocated centre for career counseling and admissions worked from 2 to 6 pm at the United Children's Complex – Silistra.
The Vice-Rector of Varna Free University, Prof. Valeri Stoyanov, PhD and members of his team met with the Regional Governor Stoyan Bonev, the Deputy Regional Governor, Elena Tomova, with representatives of the Regional Inspectorate of Education and of four municipalities in the area.

During the meeting were presented the opportunities for partnerships between VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar", the Regional Administration - Silistra and the local administrations in the region in the field of development of smart specialization strategies, enhancement of the capacity of the local authorities to work on European projects, organizing targeted training according to the needs of the administration and others. The university offers also the development of joint policies with the municipalities for personnel training. The aim is to retain young people in their hometowns.

The partnership in the field of secondary education is another important topic that was discussed during the meeting. One possibility is to support school management in implementing the idea of obtaining the status of an innovative school, provided for in the new law on pre-school and school education. A meeting with VFU alumni from the region was held on the first day of the Days of Varna Free University in Silistra

The participants in the meeting - alumni from different specialties, including from the first year of the university shared memories of the time spent at the university. They expressed satisfaction at the fact that the university seeks contact with its alumni and gave ideas for developing partnerships in various fields; launching new specialties and development of the university Alumni system.
