Varna Free University " Chernorozets Hrabar" hosted a meeting of the Council of Rectors in Bulgaria, which was held on June 17th in Varna.
The Council of Rectors under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Lyuben Totev discussed regulatory changes related to higher education and the criteria for quality of education, which by 2020 will determine the state subsidy for the universities. The requirements for the different majors are to be standardized and the rating system to be improved. Other topical issues were discussed during the meeting.
Not only presidents, rectors and representatives of the management teams of universities in the country attended the meeting in Hall 3 of the Education and Sports Complex of Varna Free University, but also the Deputy Ministers of Education and Science Prof. Ivan Dimov and Krassimir Kiryakov, the President of the National Agency for Assessment and Accreditation Prof. Dr. Biolchev and the Director of Department "Higher Education" in the Ministry of Education and Science Assoc. Prof. Mariya Fartunova.
