The Eighth International Qualifications School of Modern Pedagogical Technologies in Teaching Russian as a Foreign Language will be held from 22 to 26 August 2016 at the Russian Centre of VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar". It is organized by Varna Free University with the support of theRusskiy Mir Foundation.

As one of the most successful projects of Varna Free University and theRusskiy Mir Foundation, this school is dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the university.
The project started in 2009 - the year of the opening of the Russian Centre at the university. The school has already had eight editions and is one of the most famous in Europe methodical schools for young teachers. Since 2009, it has occupied a worthy place in the scientific calendar in Bulgaria, and since 2011 it has become one of the most popular forums for young specialists in Russian studies in Europe.
The International School was declared Project of the Year of the Assembly of theRusskiy Mir Foundationin 2015. A testament to its prestige and importance is the support of the International Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature (MAPRYAL).
The last three editions of the School are part of the plan of the activities of MAPRYAL. The forum is held with the support of Varna Municipality, the General Consul of the Russian Federation in Varna, the representation of Rossatrudnichestvo in Bulgaria and the non-profit association of the Bulgarian National Network of Teachers of Russian Language and Culture (BNSPRYAK), as well as with the support of AzBuki National Publishing House at the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Bulgaria - media partner of the International Qualifications school in Varna.).
For eight years more than 400 specialists in Russian studies have perfected their methodical preparation. Leading European universities send their students to participate in the methodological school. Varna Free University receives participants from Belarus, Bulgaria, Hungary, Greece, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Romania, Serbia, Ukraine, Czech Republic and Estonia.

Traditional feature of the school is a unique combination of theory and practice: lectures by leading scientists in the field of teaching Russian as a foreign language combined with seminars, workshops and master classes of scientists and experts.
The scientific program meets the requirements of the new educational paradigm in which the emphasis is associated with the culture and personality-oriented type of training. Namely, it encourages the development of new educational technologies and their application in practice of teaching Russian as a foreign language.
All seminars lead to a common goal - to demonstrate the possibilities of using modern educational technology in the practice of teaching Russian as a foreign language. The range of the topics of the lectures, master classes and round table discussions is quite wide. The use of innovations in teaching Russian as a foreign language can be determined as a key topic of the school.
