
The new master’s degree program in Management of Cultural Tourism at VFU Chernorizets Hrabar was presented at the tenth edition of the Black Sea Tourism Forum which took place on 28 September, 2017 in the Palace of Culture and Sports - Varna under the patronage of the Minister of Tourism Nikolina Angelova and the mayor of Varna Ivan Portnih. The theme this year was The Local Identity and Global Tourism. The master’s degree program in Management of Cultural Tourism which will be launched in the beginning of November 2017, is designed for managers who are actively involved in the organization and management of cultural tourism and offers the opportunity for high professional training of specialists in this particular segment of tourism industry.
Directors of the program are Prof. Nikolay Ovcharov and Assoc. Prof. Georgi Kalaglarski, PhD, who gave a multimedia presentation to the attendees. The stand was also visited by the Deputy Minister of Tourism Milko Teofilov and the Deputy Mayor of Varna Municipality Kosta Bazitov, who showed interest in the bachelor’s degree and master’s degree programs at Varna Free University for the training of specialists for tourism industry. The visitors to the university stand had the opportunity to taste the wines of the boutique winery Chateau Des Bergers in the village of Ovcharovo, near the town of Targovishte.
Over 50 companies, organizations, associations and municipalities participated in the forum. Presentations were also given by experts from the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Republic of Azerbaijan and from the twin of Kharkiv, Ukraine.
