Occupation “Producer” - Skills, Talent and Entrepreneurial Spirit"

21 November 2017

With the public lecture of the owner and executive director of the production company "Dreams Team Productions” entitled “Occupation "Producer" - Skills, Talent and Entrepreneurial Spirit" was given the beginning of the training in the Master’s degree programme "Performing Arts, Management and Production" of Varna Free University " Chernorizets Hrabar ".

Within the frames of the lecture, Evtim Miloshev introduced the audience to the profession of the producer and the necessary for it knowledge, skills and talent. Trust your dreams! – this is how one of the most successful Bulgarian producers turned to the audience in the hall. “This meeting is special to me because our communication has meaning and a message”, he added.

People's perception of production is associated with success, but behind this success there lies serious work, says Evtim Miloshev. According to him, the producer must understand finances, be able to manage people, be a psychologist, to work successfully with the ego of the talented people. It is a kind of ultimate authority that unites and manages all creative and non-creative processes.

Miloshev commented on the deficiencies in the legal framework related to the profession of the producer. The term "producer" appears for the first time in Bulgarian law in 1993, and in 2000 the term "film producer" appears, but in general the term "producer" is very common. There are no definitions of the types of production, which develops prerequisites for uncertainty in the legal status of the producers.

The lecturer answered questions from the audience and commented on the different stages of the audiovisual content, the skills that create new business models, the courage to be a “pioneer” in what you do and to trust your dreams despite the environment and the circumstances.

I found meaning in the invitation of Varna Free University because it is a two-way communication and if I can create motivation, desire or interest, tomorrow there will be prepared people to work with.

Within the frames of Evtim Miloshev's public lecture it became clear that the money provided for him as a lecturer will be donated for two scholarships in the Master's degree programme "Performing arts, management and production", where he is a lecturer in the discipline "Production".

Those wishing to apply for a scholarship must have excellent success from a previous Bachelor's or Master's degree and prepare a cover letter to be sent to: info@vfu.bg by 15 December 2017.
