Students of Varna Free University are among the best students in Varna
For the eleventh consecutive year the Municipality of Varna presented the annual awards to students for high achievements. Students of Varna Free University are awarded in two of the categories.
Aleksandar Ivanov, a 3rd-year student of Psychology at Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" received an award in the field of Pedagogical Sciences.
In the field of Social, Economic and Legal Sciences, Leman Lyatif Hakif, a 4th-year student of Law at Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar", was awarded.
The awards were presented by the Mayor of the Municipality of Varna, Mr Portnih and the chairman of the municipal council, Todor Balabanov. The distinguished students received a certificate of achievement, a cash prize and a coin "Varna - European Youth Capital 2017".
"Dear students, we sincerely welcome your achievements and first steps in science. I believe your developments will find their practical application. We are convinced as administration that investments in education, innovative thinking and creativity are extremely important to every young person and to the development of our city. That is why we are an active partner with the universities, ambitious to turn Varna into Smart city, attracting investments in information technology, stimulating youth entrepreneurship. I believe this cause is shared because we have an active academic community that you are part of.
Congratulations to the award winners as well as to the lecturers and the management of the higher education institutions. On the eve of the student holiday I wish you to be healthy, successful and to pursue a career here in Varna, "said the Mayor Ivan Portenh.
On behalf of the Rectors of Varna Universities the students congratulated the Rector of Varna Free University Prof. Galya Gercheva, D.Sc.
"For us, the lecturers, it is an honor and a privilege to work with the young people of Varna. We hope that we help them to be successful and to fulfill their dreams," said Prof. Gercheva.
The event was attended by the President of Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" - Prof. Anna Nedyalkova, D.Sc., Prof. Plamen Iliev, Rector of the University of Economics - Varna, and the Director of the Education and Youth Activities Directorate in the Municipality of Varna Lilia Hristova.
