DOCTORAL STUDENTS FROM VARNA FREE UNIVERSITY PARTICIPATED IN A SEMINAR ON LANGUAGE AND STYLE OF THE SCIENTIFIC THESIS

An online seminar for doctoral students studying in Russian, organised by the Faculty of Law on the topic of Language and Style of the Scientific Thesis, was held at Varna Free University. Doctoral students from all departments of the university had the opportunity to take part in it.

The lecturer of the seminar was Prof. Galina Shamonina, PhD. By using various methods for interactive presentation of the educational content, the doctoral students were introduced to the rules regarding the structure of the dissertation thesis and the requirements for its design.

Special attention was paid to the characteristics of the scientific style and the language rules (grammatical and syntactic) for writing a scientific text, as well as to basic issues related to working with scientific literature - compiling a bibliographic list and citation.

The event aroused interest among doctoral students, who expressed their satisfaction with the provided opportunity for additional training and confidence that the acquired knowledge will support their scientific research activities.
