ECONOMIC TRANSFORMATIONS IN THE GLOBAL WORLD ARE THE FOCUS OF AN INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE AT VARNA FREE UNIVERSITY

The Faculty of Social, Economic and Computer Sciences at Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" is the organizer and host of two international scientific conferences, which will be held on June 20th and 21st, 2025 in the halls of the University's Academic and Sports Complex. The theme of the conference is 'Economic Transformations in the Global World'.The forum includes three thematic areas: 'Management Transformations in Conditions of Uncertainty', 'International Competitiveness of the Economy' and 'Digital Transformations and Artificial Intelligence'. Nearly 50 scientific reports will be presented by participants from Poland, Finland, China, Lebanon, Nigeria, Israel and Cameroon, as well as by representatives of key Bulgarian higher education institutions and scientific institutions: Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar”, Paisiy Hilendarski University of Plovdiv, Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, Veliko Tarnovo University “St. Cyril and Methodius”, New Bulgarian University, Shumen University “Konstantin Preslavski”, Southwestern University “Neofit Rilski”, University of National and World Economy – Sofia, College of Tourism at the University of Economics – Varna and Institute for Population and Human Studies – Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
A plenary report will be presented by Prof. Dr. Teodora Bakardzhieva on the topic 'Artificial Intelligence – the New Reality in Universities, Science and Business: How Artificial Intelligence Changes the Rules of the Game'. A lively discussion is expected on issues related to the implementation of artificial intelligence in various spheres of public and economic life.
The second international conference - 'Applied Psychology and Social Practice' organized by the Department of Psychology at Varna Free University, will be held in parallel. It will include nearly 40 reports and thematic discussions in areas such as personality psychology, pedagogical psychology, social and organizational psychology, clinical and health psychology, security psychology and positive psychology in education. The plenary speech will be delivered by Prof. D. Sc. Lyudmil Georgiev, who will focus on critical approaches in contemporary Bulgarian psychological science.
Both conferences will be attended by lecturers, scientists, doctoral and university students, who will present their scientific developments, participate in discussions and exchange ideas with specialists from different fields. The presence of representatives from business and professional practice complements the interdisciplinary nature of the events.
Scientific forums are a space for dialogue, exchange of ideas and joint work between scientific and applied approaches. They affirm the commitment of Varna Free University to be an active participant in developing knowledge, promoting scientific partnerships and creating links between theory and practice.
