The Department of Foreign Language Teaching and Postgraduate Qualification at Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar” organized a study trip under the title 'The Old Capitals of Bulgaria'. The event, which has become a tradition, is aimed at foreign participants in the preparatory course in language and specialized training.
The purpose of the trip was to support the practical mastery of Bulgarian and English and to reveal the wealth of Bulgarian culture, history and traditions.
Within two days, under the management of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dimitar Marinov, course participants from Russia, Ukraine and Turkey visited key sites of the early Bulgarian statehood: the Pliska Archaeological Reserve, the 'Creators of the Bulgarian State' architectural complex, the Old Town in Shumen, the 'Veliki Preslav' Museum and Reserve and the 'Madarski Konnik' rock relief.
The guests had the opportunity to see valuable monuments of material and spiritual culture from the time of the First Bulgarian Kingdom. At the end of the trip, they expressed sincere gratitude to the university team and shared strong impressions of what they saw. Bulgarian history, in their words, is extremely rich and inspiring - proof of the country's significant contribution to the European and world cultural heritage.
