The event will mark the start of the only one in Bulgaria master’s degree programme in 
Circular Economy. 
The Forum "Circular Economy - Priority of the Next EU Programming Period" is organized by Varna Free University together with the District Governor of Varna District Mr Stoyan Pasev. Among the special guests of the event are Mr George Kremlis, Honorary Director of the European Commission's Directorate-General for the Environment, under whose patronage is the master's degree programme in Circular Economy implemented; Mrs Atanaska Nikolova, Deputy Minister of the Environment and Water, Mr. Yancheng Mao, Head of Education at the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Bulgaria.
The Forum will be opened by the President of Varna Free University Prof. Anna Nedyalkova, D.Sc. who will present the project of Chernorizets Hrabar VFU "Innovative Education for Economic Growth and Social Inclusion". Part of the project is the innovative master's degree programmes in the field of Circular Economy, Entrepreneurship, Cyber Security, Data Science and Intelligent Security Systems.
Among the themes, the focus of the forum will be the EU action plan in the field of circular economy, waste as an alternative raw and energy resource and the condition and problems of waste processing. The event will include regional governors and mayors from the districts of Burgas, Varna, Veliko Tarnovo, Gabrovo, Montana, Plovdiv, Razgrad, Ruse, Silistra, Smolyan, Targovishte, Shumen and Yambol, representatives of the Regional Directorate of Environment and Waters in Varna, The Black Sea Basin Directorate, as well as representatives of the business and non-governmental organizations from all over the country.
This is another important event of VFU Chernorizets Hrabar, whose mission is to contribute to the sustainable and intelligent development of municipalities by preparing staff for their management, develop research, entrepreneurship and innovation in line with the Smart City concept.
The event will mark the start of Bulgaria's only master’s degree programme in Circular Economy. The programme is implemented with the support of the Directorate-General for the Environment of the European Commission and the Ministry of Environment and Water. The training provides for internships in companies and cities in the format 16 + 1 with good practices and innovative solutions, as well as opportunities for financing student research and development.
