Jacqueline Angelova and Victoria Garnevska - graduates from Architecture at Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" are the winners of the competition for the best diploma work - 2023 of the Varna Scientific and Technical Unions (VSTU).

The first place in Technical Sciences category goes to Jacqueline Angelova and her project - Electric Vehicle Production Plant with Training and Research Center. The project of Victoria Gurnevska - Planetarium and Observatory was ranked second. Erhan Kalinov, a graduate from Informatics and Computer Sciences at VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar", did well with his diploma work on the topic: Protection Mechanism for the Internal Network of Varna Free University. The diploma projects of our students were offered to enter the competition by the faculties. The graduates of Varna Free University took part in a close-run competition – 26 diploma works were submitted by graduates from Varna universities.

The undisputed winner - the diploma project for a plant producing electric vehicles with a training and research center by Jacqueline Angelova, is in the direction 'Production Buildings and Complexes' and is managed by Dr. Arch. Peter Nikolov. The project was developed for the territory of the Western Industrial Zone in Varna. Jacqueline researched the plants of the world's car giants, as well as unrealized student projects from different countries around the world. It pays special attention to the production process, storage areas and spaces needed to build a robotic assembly line for electric vehicles. "The assembly line for the development of serial production of a vehicle must be managed by engineers and specialized personnel who have undergone training in management, maintenance and safe work with robots and machines," the graduate wrote. She proposes to "store" the cars that are ready for sale in multi-storey cylindrical parking lots, using automated processes and lifts.

Victoria Garnevska's project for a planetarium and observatory in the Vrachansky Balkan, near the Ledenika cave, is also extremely interesting. It was developed under the help of the scientific supervisors Dr. Radost Rajnovska and Arch. Boryana Nozharova. "In the last 30 years, there has been a lack of new projects for observatories and planetariums in Bulgaria. There is no well-developed astronomical center around the capital and in the northern Old Mountain part of the country," wrote the graduate, after a thorough analysis. The public building is divided into several functional zones - three with a circular plan shape with different storeys and one trapezium-shaped space consisting of three floors, which serves as a connection between the zones. There is an observatory, planetarium, museum, restaurant and cafe. The 'education' area includes conference and training rooms, astronomy and physics classrooms, storage rooms and a library with a book depository. A space for a science center with research laboratories and an outdoor observation deck with portable telescopes is also planned.
The awards for the graduates of Varna Free University accentuate the high level of education, the creativity of the students and the individual approach in the work of the lecturers. This success not only focuses on the competence of the students, as proof of the high standard of education at VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar", but also emphasizes the commitment of the graduates to do creative and innovative projects. The prizes won in the competition of VSTU show the role of the university in the training of future leaders in the field of architecture and technical sciences, as well as in solving modern urban planning and business challenges.
