Display boards featuring five graduation projects by Architecture graduates of Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar” have been selected for the accompanying exhibition of student graduation projects at the international architectural forum INTERARCH 2026. The event will take place in Sofia from October 15th to 17th, bringing together graduation projects from all higher education institutions in Bulgaria that offer architecture programmes.
The university graduates’ projects cover a wide range of architectural design fields, including sports and cultural facilities, functional adaptation, industrial buildings, and urban planning.
The graduation project
“Multifunctional Stadium in Varna” by architect Dimana Yotovska, supervised by Chief Assist. Prof. Dr. Arch. Boryana Nozharova, proposes a sports and cultural complex in the Malka Chaika area. The concept,
“Alae Maris” (“Wings of the Sea”), draws inspiration from the movement of waves and the dynamics of flight.
The exhibition also features a display board presenting architect Milena Georgieva’s graduation project, “Museum of Utopia in Varna,” developed under the supervision of Chief Assist. Prof. Dr. Arch. Boryana Nozharova.
Architect Maria Peneva is the author of “Prison Complex in Varna - Functional Adaptation.” Her graduation project was supervised by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arch. Zhechka Ilieva.
Architect Aneta Dimitrova’s project, “Confectionery Production Facility for Hard Candies and Lollipops,” supervised by Chief Assist. Prof. Dr. Arch. Petar Nikolov, was developed for a real investment project near Veliko Tarnovo. The architectural design combines the functional requirements of the production process with the aesthetics of industrial architecture.
The university’s participation is completed by a display board featuring architect Angel Petrakov’s project, “Urban Development of the Central ‘Ostrova’ Area in Varna,” supervised by Corresponding Member Prof. D.Sc. Arch. Atanas Kovachev. The project is among the graduation works awarded an excellent grade.
The inclusion of these five projects in the exhibition showcases to the international architectural community the diversity of themes and design solutions explored within the Architecture degree programme at Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar.”
