GRAPHIC DESIGN STUDENTS DECORATE PART OF VARNA'S URBAN ENVIRONMENT

4yh-year graphic design students of Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" will implement their course projects in the discipline Drawing and Stylization in a real urban environment. This Sunday – 30 July 2023, they will decorate benches in the pedestrian area of Slivnitsa Blvd., near the Archaeological Museum and the Municipality of Varna. The student projects have been agreed and approved by the Expert Council for Territorial Planning.

Fourth-year students Kristiyan Ivanov, Mihaela Hristova, Milena Kozhuharova, Viktoria Atanasova, Lora Petkova will participate in the actual drawing. The campaign is the final touch in the implementation of the course projects in the discipline Drawing and Stylization. The students worked on the theme Varna Things - for visual, decorative design of a recreation area as part of an urban environment. Their diverse design solutions reflect the most characteristic features of Varna - from ecological to scenic and fun moments of city life, the projects also include elements from the marine world, which is an inalienable part of Varna's identity. The message is optimistic, but also with attention to the civic conscience of the people of Varna and the guests of the city.

The event is initiated by thelecturer Donika Kirova in collaboration with the company Lorka EOOD, which will provide materials for the performance.

"The aim of the project is to bring a fresh touch to the design of the urban environment, attracting the attention of the people of Varna and, above all, motivating the activity of young people. They can and should participate in the aestheticization of the spaces they inhabit. I am proud to see the commitment of our students. They not only show skills in the field of graphic design, but also declare their affection for the city in which we live," says Donika Kirova.
