Greetings on behalf of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Krassimir Nedyalkov - President of VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" and Prof. Dr. Petar Hristov - Rector of the University. The greeting says:
Dear students and teachers,
Dear honorary professors and spiritual companions,
Dear colleagues and friends,
On November 1 we celebrate one of the brightest Bulgarian holidays - the National Enlightener’s Day!
The names of eminent Bulgarians who we proudly call national enlighteners shine in the treasury of our national history and culture. Noble personalities, brave spiritual leaders, educators, writers and revolutionaries, set out to "awaken" the people, to ignite the spark of knowledge in the soul and mind.
Along with them are the spiritual companions of Varna Free University - Damyan Damyanov, Stefan Tsanev, Valery Petrov, Pavel Matev, Evtim Evtimov, Gena Dimitrova, Teodosii Spasov and many others. All of them, who have entered into an intimate dialogue with students about creativity, are part of the 30-year history of the university.
Our mission today is to keep and preserve Bulgarian spirituality; to transmit the longing for the vast and beautiful world of knowledge, science and art. And in times of trial, to find a way to lead our students and pass on knowledge! On the eve of the National Enlightener’s Day, allow me to congratulate you on your devotion and the flame with which you transmit knowledge! Let us wish to develop the creative and innovative potential of young people, to preserve our centuries-old traditions and values, and to transfer them to the digital world.

Learn and search! Keep the legacy of the brave Bulgarian clergyman Chernorizets Hrabar - patron of our university. Let the words of the brave enlightener resound wherever talented, diligent and persistent young people study and work.
Carry in your mind and heart the flame of the enlighteners!
