HIGHTENED INTEREST IN THE PROGRAMMES OF VARNA FREE UNIVERSITY

18 April 2024

More than 1,200 students from Varna's schools attended the traditional Higher Education Fair, which took place in Yunashki Salon in the sea capital. In recent years, the interest of secondary school graduates in Bulgarian universities has been constantly growing, Diyana Yaneva, director of the Career Guidance Centre in Varna, commented. The trend is for young people to seek more often for advice on their career orientation, Yaneva added.

Varna Free University was represented by leading professors and volunteers from the Student Council. They were available to respond to the numerous questions and shared valuable tips for successful application to one of the largest private universities in the country.

Nikolay Dragoev, head of Student admissions at Varna Free University, explained that the university offers programmes in 10 professional fields. According to him, Law and Architecture are among the most sought-after specialties. Many young people also choose the Psychology programmes. In recent years, prospective students tend to make reasoned choices of their professions, taking into account their realisation after graduation, Dragoev added. He also commented that Varna is a city with strong academic traditions in the fields of economics and business, and these majors are always in demand. In this relation, the university also offers the International Business in English major, a joint partnership with a Norwegian university, that offers young people internships in international companies.
