Some of the key Bulgarian names in graphic design – Albena Limoni and Kostadin Kokalanov from Studio Frank – visited the students majoring in
Graphic Design at Varna Free University today. The meeting was held at the invitation of Assist. Prof. Ani Dimitrova and combined a lecture with a practical master class.
During the meeting, Albena and Kosyo presented some of their most interesting projects and talked about their professional path in the field of graphic design, calligraphy and children's book illustration. They talked about their creative pursuits, the process of creating visual concepts, as well as unrealized, but especially favorite ideas of theirs.
The meeting continued with a master class, in which the students had the opportunity to work side by side with the established visual artists, ask questions and receive valuable professional advice for developing the field of design.
Studio Frank is a key visual communication company working in the fields of graphic design, brand identity, print design and digital projects. Their work distinguishes with strong conceptual thinking, clean aesthetics and special attention to typography.
Among their most recognizable projects is the visual identity of the “Hidden Letters” initiative – an urban project that transforms Cyrillic letters into sculptural benches in the urban environment. In addition to their design practice, Albena Limoni and Kostadin Kokalanov actively participate in cultural life through various festivals and initiatives related to visual culture and design.
