16 September 2026

Students majoring in Graphic Design at Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar” met with graphic designers Hristo Hristov and Ekaterina Schultz. The guests presented their professional journeys and projects from various areas of contemporary design.

Hristo Hristov graduated from the programme in 2017. He presented posters for theatre productions, tourism logos for Varna, Dobrich, and Gabrovo, as well as packaging and labels created at No Comment Group studio, and the visual identity of Doppio tiramisu café. Among the projects he showcased were a product catalogue for Kasto Chairs and a photo album by AKTUNIMA Bulgaria dedicated to Bulgarian puppet theatre between 2015 and 2024. He traced his professional development after graduation and shared his experience of working on a variety of creative assignments. His presentation demonstrated the entire process, from developing the initial concept to preparing the final graphic product.

Ekaterina Schultz presented student and professional projects related to her studies in Sofia, Warsaw, Vilnius, and Milan. She graduated in Advertising Design from the National Academy of Art and continued her education in Vilnius. Her professional experience includes working at banda studio, Mediapost Hit Mail, and Furnicher.com. Her achievements include first place in the “Christmas 2020” philately competition and second place in the logo competition for the Nordic Baltic Youth Summit 2024. Her international experience includes Erasmus+ semesters at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and Politecnico di Milano. Her participation in exhibitions and creative workshops in various European countries has further enriched her approach to visual communication.

The meeting introduced students to different creative approaches, the development of visual identities, and the building of professional portfolios. The discussion connected academic preparation with professional practice and career opportunities in the field of graphic design.
