MORE AND MORE BULGARIANS FROM ABROAD STUDY THROUGH DISTANCE LEARNING AT VFU "CHERNORIZETS HRABAR"
The results of the candidate student campaign show that interest in the distance learning mode at Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" is increasingly strong,. Prospective students can choose from five programmes in the educational and qualification degree Bachelor, which are conducted through distance learning - Informatics and Computer Sciences, Business Administration and Management, Public Administration and Management, International Economic Relations and Finance and Accounting.
There are seven master's programmes (after completing higher education) in distance learning mode - Digital Marketing and Web Design, Software Engineering and Management and Data Science. Management and International Marketing, Administration Infrastructure, Financial and Banking Management and Marketing and International Finance are highly sought after by master‘s students.
Donika Serafimova, Yulia Dobreva and Alexandra Petrova are studying in the master's programme in Digital Marketing and Web Design. Donika lives and works in Malta, dealing with the marketing of a high-end hotel. Yulia changes her professional knowledge and competences and is in Dresden, Germany, and Alexandra combines studies and work in the family agricultural company that cultivates the fertile fields of the Danube plain. Despite the thousands of kilometres that separate the three girls, they are together in the online space of Varna Free University almost daily. And they already have plans to eventually work together - remotely - the way they're training now. "The advantage of distance learning is that you can study from anywhere in the world, at a time convenient for you," Donika and Alexandra share. "If you are creative, looking for new challenges or want to change your job, then Varna Free University is the place," Yulia believes.
More than 450 students are studying through distance learning at VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar", and their number has been growing in the last three years. Their average age is 32 years - these are mostly working young people who want to manage their time on their own, have chosen to work and improve their educational level at the same time. There are more and more Bulgarians abroad, like Yulia and Donika, and the geography of distance learning is expanding - most students are from Germany and Austria, but also from Belgium, Greece, Turkey, the Netherlands, Great Britain and the USA.
All those who have chosen to study through distance learning have the opportunity to participate in the Erasmus+ mobility programme, participate in a variety of academic exchange programmes, courses and master classes.
Distance learning mode has nearly 15 years of experience and traditions at Varna Free University. Students benefit from high-quality educational resources that are accessible from anywhere in the world at any time. A program has been created for individual consultations with teachers in real time. The personal attitude is leading in the work with the students in the distance learning mode.
