The 13th edition of the International Student Forum "My Initiative in Education" took place from 15 to 19 May 2018 at the Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia, St.Petersburg.
Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" was presented by the president of the Student Council - Stefan Daskalov, third-year student of Law and Veronika Revenko - third-year student of Business Administration and Management.
Veronika Revenco won first place in the "Veer Initiative" strand with her project "Russian without Borders" and after defending his project entitled "History and Modern Times. Youth View" in the" Cooperation between the Generations" strand Stefan Daskalov took the third place.
The students of Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" were the only Bulgarian representatives in the forum, attended by representatives of more than 20 universities from Russia, Bulgaria, South Korea, China, Vietnam, Belarus and others.
Immediately after the Russian edition of the Forum, the Second International Youth Forum "My Initiative in Education" started at Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar".
The event, which was officially opened on 22 May, is a joint project of Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" and the the Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia.
The programme includes meetings of student leaders and exchange of good practices in the initiation and implementation of student initiatives in different fields, master classes, presentation of student projects and participation in the festive procession on the occasion of 24 May - the Day of Bulgarian Education and Culture and the Slavonic Writing together with students of Varna Free University.
Part of the forum is also the "Ambassadors of the Russian Language" programme. On 22 May at 2:30 pm the famous Russian linguist Prof. Valeriy Efremov, D.Sc. and his students met with students and foreign language teachers from "Geo Milev" Secondary School in Varna.
