The leader in the field of formwork technologies and scaffolding systems, PERI Bulgaria, held a specialized presentation to students from the Department of Construction of Building and Facilities. The professional meeting was organized as part of the programme on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Department, strengthening the long-standing partnership between academia and the construction business.
During the lecture, PERI experts introduced future civil engineers to the latest trends in the sector, focusing on:
- Digitalization of the construction process: Integrating BIM (Building Information Modeling) design when choosing formwork systems.
- Optimization and safety: Presentation of high-tech systems that reduce implementation time and guarantee maximum protection of the site.
- Engineering in action: Review of real case studies from large-scale projects implemented in Bulgaria and abroad.
The Head of the Department of Construction of Buildings and Facilities, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eng. Daria Mihaleva, emphasized the importance of direct contact between the construction industry and the university.
“It is an honor for us to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Department of Construction of Buildings and Facilities together with our long-standing partners from PERI Bulgaria. Such events are invaluable because they give students the opportunity to look at their future profession beyond the framework of standard training, while at the same time motivating them to develop in a dynamic and high-tech environment.”
The presentation ended with a lively discussion panel, during which students had the opportunity to ask their questions directly to the experts of PERI Bulgaria. The future engineers showed a strong interest in the practical application of formwork systems in complex projects, overcoming technical challenges on the ground, as well as in the possibilities of 3D printing of buildings.
